Condemning the arrest of two youths in connection with the murder of journalist-activist , hundreds of people of Somvanshya Sahasrarjun Kshatriya (SSK) community took out a rally here on Wednesday.

The rally, organised by SSK Sri Tulajabhavani Devasthan Kendra Panch Samiti, started from Tulajabhavani temple in Dajiban Pet and culminated at via Channamma Circle. Protesters shouted slogans against the government and displayed placards seeking justice for arrested youths Amit Baddi and Ganesh Miskin, terming them innocent.

While addressing the protesters at Mini Vidhana Soudha, the community leaders said that youths’ parents have approached the Samiti seeking cooperation for the release of their wards. "Families of both the youths are very poor and they are depending on their earnings for their daily needs. Both the youths have a good moral character and conduct in the society and there is no clue of their involvement in any anti-law activities in the past. SIT officials have arrested them on the basis of suspision. Official should release them after speedy probe,” the leaders demanded.

Neelakanth Jadi, KY Kabadi, former MLA Ashok Katawe, former mayor DK Chavan, BJP city district president Nagesh Kalaburgi, HB Niranjan, Kishor Jituri, Sarala Bhandage and others were present in the agitation.
