Indiranagar spa raided for running flesh trade

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths raided a spa in Indiranagar and rescued a Bengaluru woman and two others from Assam and Nagaland. According to police, the masseuses were forced into flesh trade by its owner who has been arrested.

The police said that they got a tip-off about the sex racket being run on the first floor of a commercial building on 13G Main, 4th Cross, Indiranagar. A team of CCB sleuths, including female officers, raided the spa.The owner of the spa, identified as Varalakshmi, 45, has been arrested. “We rescued three women, one from Bengaluru, one from Assam, and another from Nagaland. They were hired a few months ago. Varalakshmi, who has contacts with agents in other states, would hire girls as masseuses at her spa. We have learnt that she forced the women to provide sexual service to select customers. The recruited women were not informed about the sexual services when they were hired.”

Police seized Rs 3,500, three mobile phones which were used to contact customers and a swiping machine from the spa. A case has been registered against Varalakshmi at Indiranagar police station. Further investigations are on.
