Most of us rely on a piping hot cup of coffee to kickstart our days with. But, there are a few other things to ensure that you’ll have not just a healthy morning but a healthy day too. From the right hydration your skin needs after a long night to hacks to keeping your mind at ease all day, we follow these tips to the ‘T’ and you should too. Here they are…

Start your day with a glass of water to replenish all those fluids you lost overnight. It’s literally the first thing you should do after waking up and this one is an important one, trust us. While some health-enthusiasts prefer drinking warm water, room-temperature water will do the trick too.

“Stretching for just five minutes will get your blood flowing and ease tension,” says Lauren Fleri, a CrossFit Level II coach at Brick New York. Your day will be a better one if your body is non-achy and tense, right? Try a hamstring stretch or child's pose — you don't even need to leave your bed!

Leave the eggs and sausages for the weekend and indulge in a nutrient-rich breakfast for your weekdays, thus maintaining that balance. Vitamin-packed fruits and veggies are recommended. Some dietitians also recommend a supplement of sorts to help fill out any gaps in your diet.

Planning to hit the gym before work? Plan it out a night before and note it down so you forget nothing the next morning with a groggy head. The packing will also psychologically prepare you to wake on time and exercise. We understand that it's easier said than done but we implore you to try this out. It will change things for you!

In a study from the University of Pennsylvania, people who consumed just three minutes of negative news in the morning were 27 per cent more likely to report that they had an unhappy day than people who weren't exposed to the negativity. A bad mood is no way to start your day off and so we suggest that you do away with your phone in the mornings. We know, it’s easier said than done, right?
